I Have A Real Penchant For Fashion Journalism, So When I See Something That Really Resonates With Me In A Magazine, I Feel Obliged To Tell The Whole Entire World About It. An Article In This Month's Company Entitled "RIP VIP" Really Caught My Attention, The Writer Kerry Potter Spoke About How Fashion Week Is Hugely Exposed & Now Becoming Very Overrated, She Basically Asks Us As The Readers, Whether Fashion Week Has Is Becoming Very Demystifying. What She Means Is That Some Years Ago, Us Eager Beauties Had To Wait Months To See What All The New Fashion Trends Were As Opposed To Now Where Images Are Tweeted, Instagrammed (Made That One Up, Oh, You Already Guessed?) & Plastered Everywhere For JUST ANYONE To See.
Not Only Did The Article Speak On That But Also The Fact That Before The Big Social Media Boom, Fashion Weeks Were Exclusive Only To The Fashion's World's Most High Elite; Editors, Buyers & Journalists & Now It's Simply Not The Same. That However My Lovelies, Is Not My Argument & Not My Issue Although I Do Agree With Ms Potter My Point Is That People Seem To Believe That Celebrities Are Somehow Entwined Into The Fashion World, Which I Strongly Believe They're Not. My Fustration Grows More When I See People Like Demi Moore Or Taylor Swift On The Front Row Of A Fashion Show Who Are In No Way Linked To The Fashion World At All. Hoards Of Clothes Are Thrown At Celebrities In Order To Further Publicise Their Already Over Publicised Brands. I Truly Believe That Brands Should Aim To Promote Their Clothes Alongside People Who Genuinely Help To Power The Fashion Industry, Lets Not Forget Most Of These Celebrities Have Fashion Stylists Who Are Paid A Lot To Make Them Appear As Though They've Just Thrown Something On. I'm So Over Seeing These Women Who Claim To Have Loved Fashion All Of Their Lives - Which I Do Not For One Second Believe - Then 2 Months Later We All Have To Endure A Poorly Designed Celebrity Fashion Line. Let's Celebrate Talent, Passion & A TRUE LOVE For This Industry!

Have you read Grace Coddington's memoir? It makes me long to be alive a few decades ago when fashion shows were about the actual clothes and not just the 'who's who' of the industry, with everyone scrambling to get street style shot.

Right this way, a CHANEL GIVEAWAY
I've Yet To Read It! Thanks For Reminding Me, It's Now More About Which Celebrity Is On The Front Row.
DeleteYou have a point, then again I love the whole streetstyke stuff and the way people go on a limb for it.
